I have both a MME and a Tesla M3. First, I'd say that both are great.
So which car does what better?
The Ford has better build quality. Both are 'premium' but the Ford is more so.
Phone integration via Android Auto (and I assume Apple Car Play) is much better in the Ford than the Tesla. Nav with Google Maps is much better than Tesla Nav.
The Ford is a crossover so my bike rack hangs a bit higher above the road, which is good. The frunk is bigger in the Ford than the M3 (though probably similar to the Telsa Model Y).
The Tesla has faster charging and better charging infrastructure. Although it looks smaller, I think there is actually more storage space in the M3 than the MME. The M3 has the feeling of more advanced tech (everything behind the touch screen) and a cleaner aesthetic.
I live in a winter climate. I rotate winter vs all season tires on both cars. I actually use (slightly different sizes of) the same winter tires on both cars. I also have dual motor drivetrains on both cars. The Ford's traction control is much better in slippery conditions than the Tesla, which has to be due to better software (go figure).
The Ford's phone-as-key feature is more flaky than the Tesla's but neither is 100% reliable. The main issue I think is due to sketchy support for my phone (Pixel 7) and its bluetooth hardware. That said, I never carry a key for either car.
The Tesla mobile phone app is not bad. The FordPass app is garbage. If you feel a need to use the app often (I don't), then Tesla wins this one.
The MME has a rear window wiper. That's a good thing, even if the wiper blade should be about 1" longer. Teslas don't have a rear wiper, which can suck when driving on salted, sanded winter roads.
